Admissions and How to Apply

Admissions

Baby Room, Pre-School and Nursery admission forms can be collected from the office in the main school and returned to the school administrator. Parkside Academy is responsible for allocating places in these classrooms. Decisions are made in accordance with the School’s Admissions Policy, a copy of which is available on our policies page. If places are not available your child’s name will be placed on a waiting list and you will be contacted when a place becomes available.

For Reception places you will receive a County Application Leaflet re: Starting School September Entry into the Reception Year Group. To apply for a school place you must complete the online application form or the paper equivalent (SA1 ‘Admission to Infant / Primary School’). This allows parents to state their preference of school for their child and should be completed by the deadline date (15th January). Parents will be informed of the outcome in April.

See the polices page for our schools admission policy.

There will be an induction programme for new children. They will be invited into school during the Summer Term before starting, to meet the other children in their class and to meet the teacher. Parents will be sent a welcome pack in the post prior to this.

Home visits will be arranged by class teachers when children first start our school.

In Year Applicants

In the first instance, we recommend parents contact our school by phone at 01229 828348, to check for available spaces in the year group required.

In line with the Schools Admissions Code 2014, Parkside Academy, on receipt of an in-year application, will notify the LA of both the application, and its outcome, to allow the LA to keep up to date figures on the availability of places in the area.  Parkside Academy will also inform parents of their legal right to appeal against applications that have been unsuccessful.
