PE and Sport Premium

Physical Education

Parkside Academy, we believe Physical Education is a vital part of every child’s development. Our PE curriculum nurtures positive attitudes towards fitness, wellbeing, and healthy lifestyles, while supporting learning across the wider curriculum. It integrates health, wellbeing, and physical literacy, including understanding of nutrition, healthy lifestyles, and self-care, ensuring children develop the knowledge and skills to thrive both in and out of school. Through engaging and progressive physical activity, we equip children with skills that extend far beyond school. Our provision offers inclusive opportunities for children of all abilities and backgrounds and encourages every child to take pride in representing the school in sporting activities.

The PE & Sport Premium funding plays an essential role in supporting this vision. It enables us to maintain high-quality PE provision, extend opportunities for participation, and strengthen our long-standing commitment to school sport. With a history of strong engagement in local, county, and national competitions—alongside a wide range of non-competitive activities—the funding helps ensure that every child can access meaningful and enjoyable physical activity as part of their school experience.
